The 4th "JAZZ at the QUEENS HALL" on 13th March. featured 'DixieMix' - a sextet recently formed by Simon Nelson. It was good to welcome Chris Wigley (ex the now defunct 'Just Jazz') on trombone, and also reeds player Pete Oxborough, who was a stand-in for the evening. A superb evening of vibrant and brilliantly played jazz, which raised over £400 for Rotary Charities. DixieMix are booked for our next "Jazz at the Queens Hall" on 2nd October.

We were delighted to have had a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar from America studying at the UEA to address us at our 29 Jan meeting.

2009 is off to a flying start!

Our New President, Richard Akister, congratulates  Dr Mike Harvey, having handed over the vice-president's ribbon of office.

For many years, through SOS villages, we have helped to support an orphan in Kenya. We have now signed off our previous long term charge, Caroline Morra, aged 24 (see archives), and have now 'adopted' a young boy. We share this support with other Rotary Clubs and organisations and hope our association with David Mboya will be a long and fruitful one.
