Hero’s Welcome in Watton

Salena Dawson 26th January 2011

Hero’s Welcome in WattonHero’s Welcome in Watton

The Wayland Chamber of Commerce are again working in partnership with Pride in Breckland to promote the “Hero’s Welcome in Watton” campaign.

This campaign is an opportunity for local businesses throughout the Wayland area to show their support for the men and women of our armed services.

The Wayland area is steeped in military history; indeed every member of the armed services who serve in Afghanistan will, at some point, train at Stanton or Bodney, meaning they travel through the Wayland area on route. It is estimated that this amounts to 75,000 troops per year who use the training facilities in our region. This amounts to a fabulous potential of foot flow into local business.

The Chamber feels that it is simply right and proper that Wayland businesses welcome these Heroes into our community. Support is shown by displaying the “Heroes Welcome in Watton” sticker on your business frontage and/or website.

It is completely up to each individual business as to what additional service you can guarantee any member of the armed forces walking through your door. This may be a fabulous welcome with a huge smile, to offering percentage discount, to offering a free gift, product or service. It is your business, it is your offer.

Whether or not you are a public house, dojo, bed and breakfast, video store, photographer, advisor or service provider, we are asking for the support from all Wayland Businesses.
