Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu
The Old Bakery
Dr Kevin Pell
Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu was founded on the 9th of January 1990 by its Chief Instructor, Prof. Kevin Pell, Hanshi, black belt 9th Dan.
This no nonsense style of Ju-Jitsu is the culmination of over 45 years of martial arts experience and cross-training by Kevin Pell in the arts of Ju-Jitsu, Shorinji-Kempo, Judo, Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Iaido and Kyokoshin Karate. Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu is a modern and constantly evolving martial art, yet the system proudly embraces the best of its Japanese heritage and traditions.
From its humble beginnings, with just 7 adults training on the first night at the Borehamwood dojo in Hertfordshire, Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu has today become one of the largest and most prestigious multi-style martial art organisations in Europe. The organisation currently embraces the disciplines of Ju-Jitsu, Judo, Kobudo, Karate, Kick Boxing and Submission Grappling.
Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu currently has in excess of 13,000 students training regularly throughout its clubs within the United Kingdom, Portugal, Norway, Switzerland, Germany and Croatia.
In November 1997 Prof. Kevin Pell moved to Norfolk with his wife and family and established the European Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu headquarters at the Old Bakery in the picturesque village of Caston where he personally teaches children and adults twice a week in the evening aside of his professional duties as the National Coach for Great Britain.
